This copper line appears to run out with the well line. It is NOT an oil line.
I have not seen this before. Have you?

Looks like a hose barb connection on the end. Maybe an air line for blowing something out?

Wayne. I saw one of these years ago and the Realtor told me the well guy says. " The well guy mentioned the copper tubing was a vent that used to be installed in the older well systems until they started using the well head for venting"
    Hope that helps.

It could be a tube used to put hot water or steam through if the incoming water line freezes.

Thanks for the input. I of course sent them over to consult with the well service company but some of the answers were interesting. The venting or priming seem to make sense but the copper line appears to have been installed with the recent upgrade to a bladder tank. The hot water thaw theory seems unlikely, but they don't call them the three stooges for nothing, and Billy of course had the best idea of all. Go Figga!!
