16" on center rafers and skylight

Just wondered if anyone has ever seen rafters cut to allow for a skylight, and what the proper framing would be. Is this allowed and if so, what is the correct way to box it out.

It would be allright to double up the top header and the bottom header. Joist hangers on each header (4 spots). The rafters on each side should be braced down to a wall at the skylight. Be concerned on the flashing too! These things are notorious for leaking!
