    Default Odd Roof penetration

Have not been able to figure out what this object is penetrating the roof between the roof vent and plumbing vent. It is pointed at the end and looks to have a bare wire or small diameter pipe running from it. This is on a Pulte home built in 2004 in Georgia. Any ideas?

Where's your ladder so you can get a closer look?

Looks like a weather station roof sensor that I have seen before, but that is as good as it gets from this distance.

At first I thought it might be a central vac exhaust, but it does look like an antennae for broadband.

How about we stop posting at this duplicate thread and keep all the answers together?

Makes it easier to understand what is being suggested with them all in one place.

It is an Alien sensor. They are all over that area. Mass migration from the planet zeon has taken place in recent history.

Other than that an on the roof pic might get a better answer but I like the alien story. It tells better.

No offence to anyone but it could be a Gaydar. I did a lot of work in Et Lanta, Rehabs, a lot of them had Gaydars on their roof.

    I don't know what a Gay-Dar is, is it the opposite of a Straight-Dar?
Would a combination Dar be called a Bi-Dar?
And would a converted Dar be called a Trans-Dar

I don't know what kind of Dar it is, but it definitely had too much Viagra, it's been straight up like that for well over 4 hours now.

    Jerry,

With all due respect, you need to get a life. If this is your only source of entertainment I suggest you either get reacquainted with your significant other, or go see yourself a good movie.

In any event, I'm sure I speak for many others....don't feel compelled to share your 2 cents on EVERYTHING.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Steve,

Not to worry, that was not my "2 cents" on it, that was my half-pence comment.

If that comment bothered you, and it seems to have, you sure have not been reading this board long and reading the comments of others - my comment was MILD in comparison.

I think you need to get a life and get real.

By the way, if you would take closer up photos, we might actually be able to see what it was, were you "at the overhang" on your ladder, or was that from the ground? Not saying anything about getting on the roof, it may have been too steep, unsafe, inaccessible, etc., but at least "from the overhang".

Yup. I tried to improve that image and get a better look - just not enough pixels there.

My suggeston: shoot in hi-res with a image stabilizing camera that stores images to an SD card or other inexpensive media, import to your hard-drive and batch re-size, and then go back to the hi-res image on card if you need more detail.

This is the best I can do with it.

Looks like a cover for something, and the cover is tethered to it so the cover will not fall off the roof when the cover is removed.

These are generally covers for roof anchors. This is used for maintenance or roofers to tie off on.
