Girders on piers
We have girders of 2x8 nail-laminated boards. How close can they sit to the edge of my block piers?
The piers aren't aligned perfectly and now they're filled with concrete.

The middle third without being considered eccectrically loaded.

There's not much of a third there. There are three boards at 4 1/2 inches running length wise on a 7 1/2 block.
Two of them are up to the last 3/4 inch of edge. The other 7 are fairly spaced from side to side. I'm wondering if I laminate another board to cover more of the block would that be a solution?
