Cool pic..
This is an image of a vent as it passes through the ceiling in direct contact with drywall. The vent/ceiling contact is over 5 feet from the top of the water heater and the temp of the drywall is over 180 degrees. Good stuff.

Yea, i saw it looking for leaky pans..
I like how you can really see how heat, even so far away, can affect the area of penetration.

B Vent, and I was using my TI32 at that house.

With those crimped ends it sure does look like single wall....plus B vent should not get to 180 degrees venting a water heater.

I thought you were referrng to the entire vent. Yea, it may be at the bucket. There may be a disconnection at the bucket or space that may be covered with mud.
