Yes, every time I See Snake I become rigid. Then I panic.

I use mine occasionally, it works well but with two annoying limitations: 1) the tip is considerably larger than a typical borescope and 2) there is no way to hook it up to a camera.

I just bought one at an ASHI conference. Two long time inspectors I have known over the years were very happy with theirs and basically talked me into buying one. Though I haven't yet used it I do expect that I'll be happy with it. Michael's right about the lack of camera connection but it wasn't an issue for me.

I also agree that it's for once and a while use. I also think that if something is found with it, that it would be prudent to have the client see what you're seeing, kind of a witness so when the contractor says there's no issue you'll have a believer on your side.

BWT, I ponyed up for an extra 3' extension, which has already proved handy to get around a corner in a duct to observe a damaged section in a humped slab. One thing I'm a bit worried about is scratching the plastic lens cover.
