Replacement for adobe reader
Check this out, you are gonna' love it:

Foxit PDF Reader - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com

Opens even the largest, most complicated .pdfs in about 1/10 the time as the adobe reader.

If you wish, you can set it to be the default .pdf application via the help menu choice while leaving the Adobe product installed.

Re: Replacement for adobe reader
Thanks, that was a great tip. I'm dumping Adobe Reader.
Here's another cool free app.that can save ink and paper, it's called Green Print, it analyzes any print job before it gets sent to the printer. It can convert to PDF as well.
If you've ever printed an email or from a web page and are annoyed by that one last page with just a couple of lines on it that are of no use, you will love this.

Re: Replacement for adobe reader
Great tip: Foxit rocks!

I've dumped all Adobe software from my computer. I also use Primopdf to convert Office / Word files to .pdf. It's a FREE download also and lets me password protect the files as needed. Free PDF Creator - Convert to PDF from Any File You Can Print - PrimoPDF

Re: Replacement for adobe reader
Opens quickly, but printing is SLOW! Man, I couldn't believe how long it took to print 4 pages of text. Must have been 10 minutes. I'll use it for viewing, but not printing.
