When I reapplied for my HUD fee paid inspector approval I also decide to go for the VA inspection approval. What a disaster. After raking me over the coals for 6 months with tests, requests for information, my VA contact took a leave of absence. After working through three other clueless people I finally got to a supervisor who said they were not interested in adding any inspectors in my area. 10 months of effort for nothing. I did hear that the only VA inspections being done were for homes that were being modified for disabled vets.
My advice, don't waste your time and be glad you don't have to deal with the VA on a regular basis!
