Gray PVC

I don't think I have seen this before. It is actually labeled PVC, with an ASTM D2665, just like the white PVC it is connected to. Was this a product that was in use a while ago? This addition was pretty old. I think it was put up in 1976-1978.

Most of the grey pvc I have seen is schedule 80. It has a higher UV rating and can handle higher tempuratures.

That is a commercial grade or quality PVC that you will see mostly in commercial buildings. It is still in use today.

Thanks. They must have been cleaning out the truck. They had white PVC, gray PVC and ABS all patched in on the drain lines. I couldn't read if it was schedule 80 or not, but that would make sense.

The tape was on the insulation around the supply lines for the bath..

The colors have no real meaning industry wide, some gray PVC may be schedule 80 but the ASTM posted is schedule 40. Some early versions of PVC were colored "industrial gray" not to be confused with actual industrial grade.
