Drone License Preparation Suggestions
So I got my drone yesterday and need to study for my license. Downloaded all the material from the FAA site. Any suggestions for studying and taking the exam? Any additional material (sample questions) anyone have available? Much appreciated.

Re: Drone License Preparation Suggestions
I got my certificate about a week ago. I study a few things on youtube for about 4 days and passed with an 87.
I just did these and nothing else. I took several practice exams online.
I studied these many times over for about 4 days.
The first one has a study guide.Get it.
The second one is in 3 parts.
Let me know how you do. It isn't a very hard test.

Re: Drone License Preparation Suggestions
FAA tests are almost like getting a small aircraft license, with UAS stuff added. Have to know all the new regulations around flying drones, what is and is not permitted, where how when. but also need to have knowledge of reading nautical charts, determining what regulated Airspace would be flying in, any surrounding restricted areas, read NOTAM etc...
one online training site that is supposed to be really highly recommended in the drone world is
remotepilot101.com
I recently got me a drone for Arial videos, mostly for Keeping eye on the farm, but once get good enough plan on doing some for others if need to once get my license
Just fair warning, If have or plan to get a drone, and any video/pictures may end up online in anyway publicly, since most online is add based, monetized , make sure have that license that is where the FAA is getting people and fines are steep. most video has identification buried in the format so they can track it down
there have been a few people get in trouble, both realtors and the people has the drone when they had someone else not licensed video property then they post on their web site for their business.
One of the best Drone guys out there that does a lot of video with drones and other video, expert video dude, radio host, and been droning for a long time and has many videos explaining things, tips, etc is Ken Heron.

If flying for fun only, then can operate under hobbyist rules with more restrictions
Happy Droning
